Tech Lead

WealthOS is a cloud-native wealth management technology company building modern, API-first infrastructure for digital investments, pensions, and savings products. As a recently acquired, fast-growing scale-up, we are an experienced, close-knit team working across the UK and Sri Lanka, always ready to support and learn from each other.

• Review all pull requests, monitor bugs, and conduct periodic code reviews.
• Mentor developers through the design process, providing team-level approvals and collaborating with architects to ensure your team's solutions align with our broader technical roadmap.
• Oversee task breakdowns and effort estimations to ensure they are realistic. Help the team avoid over-commitments by deep-diving into estimates and training members on how to plan their work effectively.
• Act as the first line of defence for technical hurdles. Whether it's writing documentation for a tricky workflow, responding to requests for assistance, or connecting your team with external experts, your goal is to keep the momentum going.
• You’ll act as the technical voice of WealthOS during requirement walkthroughs and solution demos, ensuring non-technical stakeholders and clients understand our progress.
• Conduct fortnightly 1:1s to monitor job satisfaction and career growth. You will track skill gaps within your team, set improvement goals, and participate in interviewing new talent to ensure we continue to build a high-performing group.
• Help new joiners get up to speed with our engineering documentation and provide a feedback loop to management on how we can improve our internal processes and overcome workflow challenges.

• You have experience leading a team of developers within a cross-functional, agile environment, with a focus on delivering features over a long-term roadmap.
• You have a strong ability to assess technical skill gaps and provide actionable feedback or training to help developers grow.
• You have experience in performing detailed task breakdowns and providing accurate effort estimations for complex features.
• You are comfortable translating technical concepts for Product Owners and participating in client-facing technical discussions.
• You possess a background in working with (and improving) standardised engineering processes, including code quality tools and PR workflows.
